The story behind Nexo

Launched in 2018 by a team with a European consumer-lending background, Nexo made crypto-backed credit lines a retail product and then survived the year that killed its peers. In 2022, as Celsius, BlockFi and Voyager collapsed, Nexo continued honouring withdrawals — the single most important fact in its history. It settled with US regulators in 2023 over its Earn product and withdrew it from the United States, refocusing on other markets.
