Crypto swap fees, explained
Every crypto swap has a cost, but it rarely appears as one labelled line. This guide shows where it hides, how to compare it, and what Monivo does and doesn't charge.
What Monivo charges
Monivo does not add a separate platform fee or markup to the provider quote. Monivo may earn a referral commission from the liquidity provider when a swap referred through Monivo completes; that commission is already reflected in the provider's quote.
Provider spreads and applicable network costs are reflected in the quoted amount. The network fee you pay to send your deposit is a separate cost set by the blockchain.
Where the cost actually sits
- Provider spread: the gap between the market price and the rate a provider offers. It varies by provider, pair and amount.
- Network fees: paid to the blockchain and set by the chain. They can include the provider's cost of sending your payout.
- Rate type: a fixed rate prices in the risk of locking the payout, so it is usually a little lower than the floating estimate at the same moment.
How to find the cheapest swap for your trade
- Compare the amount you receive, not the advertised rate or a "0% fee" banner.
- Check the payout network: the same token on different networks can carry very different network costs.
- Re-check the quote at review — quotes move with the market.
Why "lowest fee" isn't a fixed answer
The cheapest provider changes by pair, amount and minute. Monivo compares the live quotes it receives and shows them before you confirm, so you can pick the highest payout among them. It does not promise the lowest price available anywhere.
Frequently asked questions
Does Monivo charge a fee?
Monivo adds zero fees of its own on top of the provider quote. The quote reflects the provider's pricing, including any referral commission; the network fee for sending your deposit is separate.
Why is my received amount lower than the market price?
The quote includes the provider's spread and the network costs of sending your payout. Market prices shown elsewhere usually exclude both.
Are network fees included?
The cost of sending your payout is reflected in the quote. The fee you pay to send your deposit from your own wallet is not, because your wallet sets it.
Is a fixed rate more expensive?
Often slightly, because the provider absorbs the risk of the price moving. You pay a little for a known payout.
