Press and data kit

Everything needed to quote the Monivo Crypto Swap Rate Index accurately: the current figures, how they were measured, what they do not prove, and how to cite them. The data is free to reuse — including commercially — with attribution and a link to the source page. No embargo, no approval process, no payment in either direction.

Current figures, 30-day window

These regenerate from stored observations. Quote the retrieval timestamp alongside any number, because the sample moves as new observations land. Last observation: 2026-09-08 16:40 UTC.

How the numbers are produced

A sampling panel asks every connected provider that can route a given pair for a real, fillable quote — the same asset pair, the same amount, the same rate type, at the same instant. That group of answers is one comparable quote set. The gap between the best and worst payout in a set is the spread. Indicative prices, unroutable pairs and sets with a single respondent are discarded rather than filled in.

Only assets Monivo actually carries and that sit inside the top 150 by market capitalisation are eligible, so a thin or delisted token cannot widen a headline figure. Published numbers are never extrapolated, smoothed or projected.

What the data does not show

  • It is a sample of quotes returned to Monivo, not a census of the market. Providers we do not connect to are absent.
  • A spread is a quoted difference at one instant, not a realised loss; a quote can expire or move before a user accepts it.
  • Per-pair figures with small sample counts are published with their counts attached, and provider-level rankings are withheld whenever the sample would make them misleading.

Cite the figures

For articles and papers. Monthly reports are frozen at their own URL so a quoted number never shifts.

Monivo, "Crypto Swap Rate Index", https://monivo.io/research/crypto-swap-rate-index (accessed 1970-01-01).

Prefer the raw numbers? /api/public/rate-index.json returns the same summary and pair table as JSON, with ?window=7d or ?window=30d. No key, no rate card — use it with attribution and a link to the source page.

Frozen monthly reports

A figure quoted from a live page shifts. Each completed month is frozen at its own URL, so a number in a published article still matches its source a year later.

Requests and custom cuts

We will cut the dataset to a single pair, window or asset class for a story, supply the underlying window as CSV, or walk through the sampling rules on a call. Turnaround is usually the same day. We do not pay for placement and do not ask for copy approval — if the data contradicts something we have said elsewhere, print it.

Monivo is a swap aggregator and may earn a commission from the providers it quotes. That is why the method, the sample sizes and the limitations are published alongside every figure — so the data can be checked rather than taken on trust.
