The story behind 1inch

Sergej Kunz and Anton Bukov built the first version at a hackathon in 2019 with a simple observation — liquidity on-chain is fragmented, so the best price rarely lives in one pool. The aggregator routed around that, and the 1INCH token launched by airdrop on Christmas Day 2020.
