edgeX (EDGE) is the token of a decentralised derivatives exchange offering order-book perpetual futures with low latency, aimed at active traders who want the feel of a centralised exchange without giving up custody of their funds.

The story behind edgeX

Built by a team with roots in high-frequency trading, edgeX launched during the 2024–2025 expansion of on-chain perpetuals trading, deliberately competing on matching-engine performance rather than the automated-market-maker model that earlier decentralised perpetuals platforms relied on, betting that professional traders migrating from centralised venues would care more about execution speed and order-book depth than about novel token mechanics.

That focus placed it squarely in competition with a handful of other exchanges making the same bet at roughly the same time.

What EDGE is used for

You use EDGE for fee discounts, staking and governance on the exchange, with rewards funded from trading activity and paid out to active traders and liquidity providers rather than to passive holders alone, which rewards the people actually generating volume on the platform over those simply holding the token in a wallet.
