The story behind Jupiter

Jupiter grew out of Solana's near-death winter after FTX, when the ecosystem's builders were the only people left in the room. By routing across fragmented Solana liquidity it became the default way to trade on the chain, and in January 2024 it distributed JUP to nearly a million wallets in a launch designed to hand governance to users rather than funds.

The DAO has since voted on supply burns and on how much of the remaining allocation ever reaches the market.
