About Waves (WAVES)

Layer-1 blockchain

Waves (WAVES) is a proof-of-stake blockchain that set out to make token issuance and trading genuinely simple, pairing a built-in decentralised exchange with its own smart-contract language rather than requiring developers to learn Solidity or a comparable system.

The story behind Waves

Sasha Ivanov launched Waves in 2016 off the back of one of the earliest large token sales the industry had seen, at a time when that kind of fundraising was still a novelty rather than a routine event. The chain's Neutrino USD algorithmic stablecoin depegged badly in 2022 during a period of broader market stress, an episode that damaged confidence in the wider ecosystem the way algorithmic stablecoin failures tend to.

Since then the project has worked to rebuild trust and diversify away from its earlier heavy reliance on that single stablecoin.

What WAVES is used for

WAVES is leased to nodes to earn staking rewards, pays fixed and predictably low network fees, and circulates within the Waves decentralised exchange and its remaining DeFi applications as both a trading asset and collateral. The simplicity that once defined the project's pitch is still there, even if the ecosystem around it is smaller than it once was.

Waves in the market today

Waves is a small-cap veteran that has never fully recovered its earlier standing since the Neutrino collapse, though the chain remains operational and its token stays liquid across a number of exchanges, largely among users who followed the project from its early days rather than newcomers arriving fresh.

How to buy or swap WAVES

  1. Pick WAVES as the asset you want to receive.
  2. Choose what you're paying with — crypto or a fiat card.
  3. Monivo compares every connected exchange and routes your order to the best available rate.
  4. Paste your wallet address and confirm — funds arrive in minutes.

Fees and pricing

Monivo does not add a separate platform fee. The quoted receive amount reflects the executing provider's pricing and applicable payout costs. Your sending wallet or exchange may charge its own network or withdrawal fee. The amount shown is an estimate; fixed and floating quotes follow the provider's terms.

Monivo does not add a separate platform fee. Some partner quotes include a small affiliate margin that is retained by Monivo as a referral commission; this margin is included in the rate shown, not added on top. Provider spreads and applicable network costs are also reflected in the quoted amount.

Network fees are set by the blockchain, not by Monivo. No account, no subscription and no withdrawal charge. Live support is available 24/7.
