How to sell Monero (XMR) privately without KYC

Buying Monero got harder after the wave of exchange delistings — but selling it got even harder. Kraken pulled XMR in the EU, Binance delisted it globally, and the remaining centralised venues demand full KYC. This guide shows the no-account, non-custodial route out of Monero: swap XMR directly to stablecoins or BTC in your own wallet, in under 45 minutes.

TL;DR

  • • Sell XMR to USDT, USDC or BTC — no card, no bank required.
  • • No signup, no KYC to start the order.
  • • Pick the payout network (TRC-20, Base, Solana, etc.) for the lowest fees.
  • • Rates aggregated across FixedFloat, Changelly and ChangeNOW.
  • • Settlement typically 25–45 minutes end-to-end.

Why selling Monero is uniquely difficult in 2026

The privacy features that make Monero valuable — ring signatures, stealth addresses, confidential amounts — also make it a compliance headache for exchanges. Over the last two years Binance, Kraken (EU), OKX, Huobi and Bittrex have all pulled XMR trading. The venues that remain (Kraken outside the EU, KuCoin, MEXC) require full identity verification and often flag deposits from unhosted wallets. That leaves non-custodial swap aggregators as the only route out of XMR for anyone who wants to keep their keys and their privacy.

Step-by-step: sell XMR without KYC

  1. Step 1

    Decide what to sell into

The most private off-ramps for XMR are other crypto: stablecoins (USDT on Tron/ETH/Optimism, USDC on Base/Solana) or BTC. Selling to a stablecoin gives you a dollar-pegged value you can hold or move; selling to BTC keeps you fully in crypto with better liquidity.

  2. Step 2

    Pick the destination network

For USDT choose TRC-20 for the cheapest fees, ERC-20 if you need EVM DeFi, or Optimism/Arbitrum for L2 speed. For USDC, Base and Solana are the cheapest. Monivo's network guard blocks you from sending to a chain a wallet can't actually receive.

  3. Step 3

Get a live quote — no signup

Enter the XMR amount and pick your destination coin. Monivo aggregates rates across FixedFloat, Changelly, ChangeNOW and others and instantly shows the best 'you receive' amount. No account required to see the quote or start the order.

  4. Step 4

Send Monero to the one-time deposit address

Copy the XMR deposit address the provider generates for your order and send from your non-custodial wallet (Cake, Feather, Monero GUI, Monerujo). Choose a fixed rate to lock the amount, or a floating rate for the live market price.

  5. Step 5

Receive stablecoins or BTC in your wallet

Once the XMR deposit confirms (usually 10–20 minutes), the swap settles and your USDT / USDC / BTC is sent straight to the receiving address you provided. Follow progress on the order tracking page from start to finish.

Privacy best practices when selling XMR

  • Send from a wallet you control. Monero's privacy protects the on-chain trail, but if you're sending from a wallet that was funded by a KYC exchange withdrawal, that link still exists off-chain. Fund the source wallet privately where possible.
  • Receive into a fresh address. Use a receiving address that isn't already tied to your identity. Stablecoin deposits into a KYC exchange are effectively de-anonymising.
  • Verify the network. Monivo's runtime guard blocks payout to a network your destination wallet can't actually receive. Still, double-check that USDT-TRC20 goes to a Tron address, USDC-Base to an EVM address, etc.
  • Split large amounts. Multiple smaller orders avoid provider ceilings and reduce single-order slippage risk.
  • Bookmark Monivo. Never reach the site via a search-engine ad — phishing clones target XMR flows specifically.
