The story behind VeChain

Sunny Lu, formerly the CIO of Louis Vuitton China, founded VeChain in 2015 with a specific problem in mind: supply chains full of counterfeit goods and unverifiable claims about origin and condition. The project started on Ethereum before launching its own independent chain in 2018, and it has since run product-authenticity and carbon-tracking programmes with companies including Walmart China, BMW and the risk-management firm DNV. The 2024 Renaissance upgrade modernised the underlying protocol to keep pace with those enterprise commitments.
