About Kaspa (KAS)

Layer-1 blockchain

Kaspa (KAS) is a proof-of-work cryptocurrency built on a block DAG, a structure that allows many blocks to be produced per second in parallel rather than one at a time, aiming to keep Bitcoin's security model while shedding its throughput limits.

The story behind Kaspa

Yonatan Sompolinsky's GHOST paper, cited in Ethereum's own original white paper, laid the theoretical groundwork years before Kaspa existed, and when he and the team at Daglabs finally launched the network in November 2021, they did it with no premine and no allocation set aside for insiders or founders — a fair-launch structure closer to Bitcoin's own origins than most modern chains attempt. The block rate has since climbed from one to ten per second, with further increases planned through an ongoing rewrite of the client in Rust.

What KAS is used for

KAS is mined through proof-of-work and used for fast peer-to-peer payments that confirm within seconds while keeping the security properties that come from a genuinely competitive mining market rather than a small validator set. Smart-contract support is being layered on through a separate execution layer that is still under active development, so programmability here is a promise more than a finished feature.

Kaspa in the market today

Kaspa is the largest of the newer proof-of-work coins by market capitalisation and draws close attention from miners looking for a fair-launch alternative to Bitcoin. It still lacks the liquidity, brand recognition and merchant support that Bitcoin and Litecoin accumulated over many more years, and that gap is the honest measure of how far it still has to close.

How to buy or swap KAS

  1. Pick KAS as the asset you want to receive.
  2. Choose what you're paying with — crypto or a fiat card.
  3. Monivo compares every connected exchange and routes your order to the best available rate.
  4. Paste your wallet address and confirm — funds arrive in minutes.

Fees and pricing

Zero added fees: Monivo does not add a platform fee, a minimum or a withdrawal charge — the rate you see is the rate you get. Blockchain network fees are shown in full before you confirm, and the final amount you receive is quoted up front.

Monivo does not add a separate fee or markup to the provider quote. Monivo may earn a commission from the liquidity provider when a completed swap is referred through our platform. Provider spreads and applicable network costs are reflected in the quoted amount.

Network fees are set by the blockchain, not by Monivo. No account, no subscription and no withdrawal charge. Live support is available 24/7.
