About LayerZero (ZRO)
Cross-chain messaging tokenLayerZero (ZRO) is the token of an omnichain messaging protocol that lets applications send verified messages and assets between more than a hundred blockchains through a shared security layer, rather than each chain pair needing its own custom bridge.
The story behind LayerZero
LayerZero launched in 2022 and became one of the most widely used cross-chain messaging layers in crypto, powering bridges, tokens that live natively across multiple chains at once, and cross-chain governance systems used by numerous other protocols as backend infrastructure they don't build themselves. ZRO itself launched in June 2024 through a 'proof of donation' claim process, where recipients paid a small fee that was routed to charity rather than kept by the protocol, an unusual distribution mechanism designed partly to filter out purely mercenary airdrop farming.
What ZRO is used for
You use ZRO to pay for cross-chain message verification, and it plays a role in governance and the protocol's fee model — with individual applications free to choose their own security configuration for exactly how their messages get validated, letting a simple token bridge and a high-value cross-chain settlement system apply very different levels of caution to the same underlying messaging layer.
LayerZero in the market today
LayerZero is one of the two dominant general-purpose messaging protocols in crypto, alongside Wormhole, and its usage is spread thinly across most of the chains people actually use. That reach is also the risk: bridging infrastructure of this kind has repeatedly been the target of some of the industry's largest exploits, and no messaging layer is fully immune to that history, which makes the security of its underlying design at least as important to watch as its adoption numbers.

Fees and pricing
Zero added fees: Monivo does not add a platform fee, a minimum or a withdrawal charge — the rate you see is the rate you get. Blockchain network fees are shown in full before you confirm, and the final amount you receive is quoted up front.
Monivo does not add a separate fee or markup to the provider quote. Monivo may earn a commission from the liquidity provider when a completed swap is referred through our platform. Provider spreads and applicable network costs are reflected in the quoted amount.
Network fees are set by the blockchain, not by Monivo. No account, no subscription and no withdrawal charge. Live support is available 24/7.
